Part Time Accounts Assistant – Maternity Cover

Here at O’Brien’s, we are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join the team at our Kilkenny dealership. Full accounting qualifications are not a requirement as the successful candidate will be fully trained to use our accounting systems to meet our high company standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Recording sales and purchases on the dealerships accounting system.
  • Ensuring all customer receipts and supplier payments are accurately recorded on the accounting system in accordance with company procedures.
  • Posting of Supplier invoices to Sage & reconciliation of Accounts Payable.
  • Monthly cash control reconciliations between lodgements and debtors control receipts.
  • Preparation of VAT and Tax returns.
  • Bank reconciliations and reconciliations of Debtor and Creditor accounts.
  • Ad hoc duties as required by Financial Controller.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or a related discipline desirable but not essential.
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and acute accuracy.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent IT skills (particularly Excel) and experience with accounting systems.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks.
